The two stand-up paddle-boarders were part of a group of 8, and had been reportedly swept over a weir. As more information emerged, it was found to be the Afon Vyrnwy rather than the lake, and the weir in question was near Dolanog.
Water rescue parties from both Aberdyfi and South Snowdonia Teams were called out to help North East Wales MRT in the search, but were quickly stood down as news came in that, having been swept a mile or more downstream, the two casualties had managed to self-rescue and were safe and well.
