Unconscious Male at Llwyngwril

Shortly before 3:00 p.m. the Team was requested to assist North Wales Police in the rescue of an unconscious male from steep ground near Llwyngwril.

Being on the beach margins, the incident was passed on to H.M. Coastguard, although Team volunteers proceeded to the incident to assist.

In a joint effort with NWP, HMCG and Barmouth RNLI inshore lifeboat, the man was evacuated via sea, and transported to hospital for further care.

Lost Walkers on Cader Idris

At around 12:30 p.m., call-handlers from the Team were made aware of a group of walkers lost but uninjured on Cader Idris.

Using smart-phone technology, the location of the three men was established remotely, and they were advised of their position and given a suggested exit route.

Their progress was monitored remotely, and by 2:00 p.m. they reported themselves safely back on tarmac.

Woman Taken Ill on Diffwys

At around 3:30 p.m. call-handlers from the Team were made aware of a 16 year old girl taken ill on the slopes of Diffwys.

As this location sat outside the Team's area, the call was passed to South Snowdonia Search & Rescue Team, although Aberdyfi volunteers remained on standby to assist should a stretcher-carry be required.

In the event the rescue was managed by SSSRT with helicopter support from Rescue187

Walker Struggling on Cader Idris

Shortly before 1:30 p.m., call-handlers from the Team were made aware of a lone walker on Cader Idris who was struggling to continue.

The woman, whose walking companion had continued on without her, lost confidence in the poor weather conditions and was scared she would come to harm if she proceeded.

Using smart-phone location protocols, the Team was able to establish her position on the Pony Path, and give encouragement that she was indeed on the correct path. As she made her way along the route, a small hill-party of Team volunteers headed up the mountain from Ty Nant to meet up and escort her down off the mountain.

Everyone was safely down at the carpark by 4:30 p.m.
