A teenager had come off mountain bike and had suspected spinal injuries. When team arrived at incident local farmers were just completing evacuation using 4x4's. It was later confirmed by parents that there was a spinal injury however full recovery was expected.
Team were in the process of deploying to the Nant Y Moch area when a second job came in. Discussions with Brecon call handlers led to the decision that they would continue to this job while Aberdyfi would re group for the other.
We were asked by Brecon Mountain Rescue Team to assist with a pair of walkers, one of whom had hurt their leg while walking on Plunlimon. They were making slow progress but unsure of the best route off the hill. After confirming they were making progress, the team were stood down while en-route.
This afternoon we were asked by Brecon Mountain Rescue team to assist with an off-road biker who had taken a fall near Forge. His fall had aggravated a previous injury. Team members made their way to the casualty who was checked over and finding no signs for concern, he was accompanied back to main roads where he took himself onwards for some rest and recuperation
On Saturday afternoon we were requested to assist with a walker who had fallen around 20m in one of the quarries above Dinas Mawddwy. With ambulance and HeliMedics already on the scene, we were requested to extract the casualty to waiting ambulance for the onward journey to hospital.
12 team members attended for the brisk walk up hill, and the tricky carry back down some very steep sections. Everyone was back down off the hill by 7pm. We wish the casualty a speedy recovery and hope to see him back out on the hill before too long. |
