At around 2:00 p.m., call-handlers from the Team were made aware of a 70 year-old woman trapped in an outbuilding in a remote property near Pennal.
The woman had fallen through the floor covering an old vehicle inspection pit some 48 h earlier and was unable to escape. Following up on welfare concerns raised by family members unable to contact the woman, a Police Officer visited the property, and noticed a set of keys hanging from the garage door. Investigating further, he located the woman trapped in the pit.
Team volunteers along with Police Officers and a Welsh Ambulance Service crew attended the incident, and, armed with a ladder, were able to assist the woman out. She was assessed by the WAST crew and found to be cold and dehydrated but otherwise in reasonable shape considering her ordeal.
