The Air-Ambulance was already in attendance, had landed as close as they could get to the injured man, and had begun to stabilise and treat his multiple injuries. The Helimed helicopter does not have winching capability, so the assistance of Coastguard Rescue936 Helicopter was requested to lift the injured man from the steep, rocky slope. The rider was flown to a better landing site and transferred to the Air-Ambulance for transfer to Stoke for Hospital based emergency care.
Everyone was safely off the mountain shortly before 4:00 p.m.
