At 11:30 the team received a request for assistance from Dyfed Powys Police following reports that Paraglider glider was believed to have crashed near Llangynog in the north east of our area.
Due to the location and likely search areas a request was made for assistance from our friends at neighbouring North East Wales Search and Rescue (NEWSAR), Search and Rescue Dogs (SARDA Wales) and Coastguard Helicopter to assist.
With team members from Aberdyfi and NEWSAR coordinating with other responding agencies at scene (Police and Fire), R936 Coastguard Helicopter dropped a search dog and handler into the area before commencing initial aerial search taskings in the area.
With search teams making way into search areas on foot word came through from Dyfed Powys Police that the Paraglider had been located having landed elsewhere. A false alarm with good intent.
