Our team responded to a call for help from a couple who had lost their way after climbing Cadair Idris from Ty Nant, with batteries running low, a small team set out at 7pm and reached them, though in the meantime, one of them injured their ankle, our dedicated team quickly provided support, enabling them to make a slow but safe descent, off the hill just after 9 PM.
At 6pm, a team member out walking on Cadair Idris came across a walker who was unable to continue. They assisted for several hours, but it became clear that further help was needed. Team members deployed and carried out medical assessments alongside a passing doctor. The walker was stretchered off the mountain.
At 11:30pm, the team was contacted about a horse stuck in a ditch near Arthog. The incident was passed to HM Coastguard for specialist assistance.
A member of a group was suffering from leg cramps right at the summit of Cadair Idris. With SARLOC tracking their progress, team members headed up via Mynydd Moel to meet them. The two groups met halfway down the fence line, and the presence of the team was a welcome relief to the party.
on Wednesday 4 team members went to assisting our neighbouring team and Dyfen Powys Police with a search of a missing person in Hafren Forest covering further areas which hadn't been searched the previous day. The search was resolved in the afternoon.
A group of four walkers were on the upper section of the Fox’s Path when a boulder the size of a football rolled onto one person’s foot. The group helped the casualty down to flatter ground near Llyn y Gadair and called for assistance.
Our team deployed quickly with a vacuum splint, shelter, and pain relief. With heavy rain and fading light, we requested support from the Coastguard Helicopter, which airlifted the casualty to Aberystwyth. HM Coastguard Aberystwyth secured a landing site for transfer to ambulance and onward to Ysbyty Bronglais. Everyone was off the hill by 1930 |
