Shortly before 2:30 a.m., Team call-handlers were made aware of a dog "stuck on the ridge" ​in the Abergynolwyn area. It appeared the dog might have been missing for 24h and no details were given as to where it was located.

The Team stood-by as further information was sought about whether a specific location was known and whether people were putting themselves at risk trying to reach the dog. 

Later the same morning, the Team was notified by North Wales Police that the RSPCA was now involved and no further action was required.

Shortly after 3:00 p.m., Team call-handlers were made aware of an 18 year-old male with an open-fracture of the leg at Revolution Bike Park, Llangynog, Oswestry.

With significant travel times affecting our response, the incident was resolved through the efforts of a Welsh Ambulance Service crew and the Air Ambulance.

Shortly after midnight, the Team received a request to support our neighbouring team, South Snowdonia Search & Rescue Team, with an ongoing missing-person search on Rhinog Fawr.

The missing walker, in his 50's and from the Stockport area, had sent a photo from the summit of Rhinog Fawr mid-afternoon, after which there had been no further contact. The man was some 6 hours overdue when the alarm was raised, at which time thunder and hale storms were sweeping the hills.

At first light, a search party from the Team joined other resources from SSSRT and Aberglaslyn MRT, along with SARDA Wales search dogs and the Coastguard helicopter Rescue936. Despite  a day of intensive activity searching the difficult ground, the man was not located.

As twilight approached, and search parties started to return to base, the man was encountered on a nearby tarmac road, a little battered around the edges by his ordeal, but largely uninjured.

Shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Saturday 8th October, call-handlers from Aberdyfi Search & Rescue Team were made aware of a 70 year old woman experiencing severe leg cramps on Cader Idris.

The woman, part of a group of 10, was unable to proceed, and was placed in a shelter by her companions whilst assistance from mountain rescue was sought.

A Snowdonia National Park ranger, also a mountain rescue volunteer, was already on the mountain, and was able to reach the casualty comparatively quickly. Along with our own Team volunteers, members of the RAF Valley Team, attending training in the area, were also able to contribute numbers to the rescue.

The woman was immobile high on the south west ridge of the mountain, and to avoid a prolonged stretcher carry that would have taken rescuers into the hours of darkness, helicopter assistance was sought. As equipment was being carried up the mountain and the first Team volunteers were reaching the scene, Coastguard helicopter Rescue936 was able to airlift the woman off the mountain.

Everyone was safely off the mountain by 6:15 p.m.
