Shortly after 9:30 a.m., call-handlers from the Team were made aware of a vulnerable missing adult in woodland above Dolgellau.
As information was being gathered, the person was found by North Wales Police officers, and the Team was stood down. Shortly after 5:00 p.m. the Team was requested to supply water-rescue assets to assist in an ongoing search for a missing person.
The search, involving our neighbours, South Snowdonia Search & Rescue Team, along with Fire and Rescue crews and North Wales Police, was for a person seen entering the Afon Mawddach near Dolgellau. The inconclusive search was stood down at around 9:00 p.m. Shortly after 3:00 p.m. the Team was made aware of concerns raised about an overdue fell-runner on Cader Idris.
As call-handlers started to gather information, it became apparent that the man was off the mountain and driving home, unaware that he had been reported missing. At around 10:30 p.m. the Team was requested to assist Fire and Rescue crews in reaching a snow-bound motorist near Dylife.
The driver had lost control of the car in conditions described as "trecherous" and had hit a fence. In the event, F&R personnel were able to reach the vehicle and the Team was stood down shortly after midnight. The ongoing search for a missing man resumed in the morning in support of Brecon MRT.
The operation was stood down shortly before lunchtime following the discovery of a body by one of the search parties. Shortly before 12:30 p.m. The Team was requested by Brecon MRT to help in an ongoing missing person search at Tal-y-Bont near Borth.
The missing man was last seen late the previous evening, and a full day of searching provided no further indication of his whereabouts. The search was suspended at nightfall, with a view to continue in the morning. |
