Unable to contact the casualty directly, a group of Team volunteers was dispatched to investigate based on the information available, and the casualty was quickly located on open ground just beyond the top of the Minffordd steps.
The casualty had been walking with family when he slipped, injuring his knee leaving him unable to walk.
As the man was assessed, more Team volunteers brought up equipment in anticipation of the difficult evacuation down the Minffordd steps. In the event, Rescue187, the Coast-Guard helicopter based out of St. Athan, was made available and the casualty was uplifted and flown to Bronglais Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
Everyone was safely off the hill by 8:00 p.m.
