As well as quickly reaching the casualty, a 63 year old lady from near Newtown, the team member was able to pass on appropriate information to call-handlers from Aberdyfi Team. Having assessed the condition of the lady, it was decided to request assistance from the Coastguard Helicopter, Rescue 936. In the meantime the Team was put on standby to assist should they be required. The helicopter was able to attend, and conditions were such that it was able to land just below the summit. The casualty was assessed by the winchman-paramedic, and it was decided to airlift the woman and three of her party off the hill to Ty Nant. A forth member of the party walked down off the hill with the rescue volunteer.
Everyone was safely down from the mountain by around 4:30 p.m. and once all four of the party were together, they were reunited with their car at Minffordd.
