The party of 3 friends had started up the Pony Path from Ty Nant carpark. As they got higher on the mountain, one of the party started to feel unwell, reporting severe abdominal pain and vomiting.
With no sign of the episode abating, the group called for Mountain Rescue assistance.
The team deployed to Ty Nant, and a hasty party of two made way to the casualty location, whilst others remained in readiness to carry up equipment as required.
Team casualty-carers undertook a medical assessment the woman, whose condition was already starting to improve following self-medication prior to their arrival. As she continued to improve, the decision was made to try a short walk. This went well, so after a brief break she then undertook a longer section, and then down off the hill.
With advice given about seeking follow up assessments, the woman was discharged into the care of her friends.
Everyone was safely off the hill by 3:45 p.m.
