Out on a solo back-packing trip, the man was descending from the summit area via a steep route known locally as the "Stone Chute". Having safely negotiated the difficult step just below the ridgeline, the man slipped on wet ground and sustained a broken leg just below it.
The Team called out to assist, and given the location high on very steep ground and the need for technical rope rescue, assistance from Coastguard Helicopter R936 was requested for rescue or for resource uplift. Having inspected the site and lowered the winchman to the scene, the R936 crew were able to make a snatch pick-up of the casualty and transport him to Ysbyty Gwynedd , Bangor, for further assessment and treatment.
