Attempts to locate the male using phone-find technology were unsuccessful. With little to go on other than confirmation of his vehicle type and registration, the team deployed to Minffordd Carpark along members of South Snowdonia Search and Rescue who were called in to assist with the search.
Once at Minfforrd, it was confirmed that the vehicle was still in the carpark, and hill parties made ready to commence searches along likely routes down off the mountain. As Team volunteers were leaving the carpark, word came in that the lost walker had made it safely down the north side of the mountain to Ty Nant and was being assisted by a passing farmer back to his vehicle.
Team members waited at Minffordd until the lost walker arrived before departing for home at 01:45am.
