Volunteers arrived at the scene and received taskings, but the rapidly developing situation meant they were put on hold as new information came in. A new report informed that a Search & Rescue Dogs Association trailing dog team had had a positive indication and were a following what was believed to be the person's trail. As they made good progression in what turned out to be the correct direction, a group of walkers by chance encountered the missing man, safe and well, about 400m ahead.
The Team was stood down at around 11:30 p.m.
